The five doctors listed directly below function as a partnership based at Parkfield Medical Practice. All have general partner status. Dr Dowell is employed as a salaried GP by the partnership. All the doctors have a variety of clinical interests.

Practice Manager
Sue Thornhill BA (Hons), PG Cert, MIHM, our practice manager, is responsible for the day-to-day smooth running of the practice and co-ordinates the work of the other staff.
Nurse Practitioners
Sister Dianne Welch RGN, BSc (Hons) (ENB928, ENB998, CHD Diploma, C & G 730)
Sister Welch completed training at Wolverhampton University to become a nurse practitioner. She is already a fully trained nursing sister and is trained to diagnose and to provide health care advice directly to patients. She is also a qualified nurse prescriber and can prescribe for a range of medical conditions. She has appointments available and can also offer you advice over the telephone.

Sharon spent 11 years in General Practice as a practice nurse before undertaking a Nurse Practitioner Degree at Wolverhampton University. Sharon is trained to assess, diagnose and prescribe for a range of minor illness/Injuries

We have an excellent team of multi-skilled practice nurses. They can help you with a wide range of services, including dressings, ear syringing, cervical smears, immunisations, travel advice, minor injuries, HRT checks and contraception reviews. The nurses also run their own chronic disease review clinics for long-term conditions such as diabetes, respiratory illness and coronary heart disease.
Additionally, the nurses can offer advice on the telephone to treat minor illness and can advise you on self-help measures.

We have four healthcare assistants who assist the practice nurses and also see patients in their own clinics, under the supervision of our practice nurses and doctors. They provide a range of nursing services, including health checks, smoking cessation, blood pressure reviews and minor dressings.
Administration And Reception Staff
The reception team is your first point of contact with the practice. They will help you to use the services provided. A team of administrators and medical secretaries further support the practice. All the staff are happy to assist you.
ATTACHED STAFF
Community Nurses
Community nurses are regularly in touch with the practice and they provide nursing to housebound patients and those recently discharged from hospital as and when necessary.
Community Midwives
Community midwives work with the doctors to provide care to mothers before and after delivery and for the baby's first 10 days.
Phlebotomy
A team of phlebotomists works in the practice. They complete blood tests after referral from a doctor/nurse practitioner. The practice also uses the phlebotomy service based at Phoenix Health Centre.
Citizens Advice
A service is available to our patients, which assists with completing forms, offers help with finance, and checking entitlements. You can book an appointment via reception.
Compton Hospice
We have close links with Compton Hospice and our doctors and nurses are in regular contact with a member of Compton Hospice's home care team. If you need further information, please ask.
