How Do I... Make An Appointment?

The appointment system aims to enable you to see a GP within 48 hours or a health care professional within 24 hours during core hours. You will have the opportunity to book appointments more than 48 hours in advance. It will be possible to be seen by a Practitioner of your choice but waiting times may vary for specific doctors. At times we may arrange for one of our nurses or a doctor to call you back. They will offer you advice over the telephone and, if necessary, make you an appointment.

As a registered patient an appropriate consultation and examination will be provided even if it has been some time since you last visited the practice.

Choose And Book

Where a clinician has decided that a first consultant outpatient appointment is required, you will be offered a choice of appointments. There is a computer system running in the practice to confirm these booking arrangements. How Do I... Obtain Telephone Advice?

Telephone consultations are available on a daily basis with either a doctor or senior nurse. You can arrange to speak to a specific doctor by booking a telephone consultation with that doctor. General advice can be given on a daily basis by contacting the Duty Doctor. Additionally, the nurses can offer advice on the telephone to treat minor illness and can advise you on self-help measures.

How Do I... Obtain A Home Visit?

If you feel a home visit is necessary, please telephone (01902) 342152 before 11.00am. This will avoid delay. You will often be seen more quickly if you can attend the surgery. A home visit will occur if you are genuinely unable to get to the surgery because of your illness. The doctor will make the decision whether to visit. Please note that you do not have the right to a visit.

How Do I... Obtain Test Results?

To protect confidentiality, test results can only be given to the person involved. You may call in or telephone the surgery for results, but as the telephone is very busy first thing we suggest you phone after 11.00am.
